Team Ecoville

The Founders’ previous experience over the past 9 years has focused on social and sustainable housing. The team has performed clean energy studies for small communities in Western Canada and developed energy efficient affordable housing for First Nations communities.

Having partnered with and demonstrated these findings at the University of British Columbia, the founders’ realized that by combining their accumulated knowledge with modern building technologies, they could work with municipalities to build new kinds of communities that benefit all key stakeholders: municipalities, residents, investors and the environment.

Yoga Yogendran

Yoga Yogendran

Formerly a Civil and Electrical engineer in Calgary and Vancouver, Yoga is building on 27 years of experience developing and deploying energy efficient and clean energy technology solutions. He previously served as Research Director at BC Hydro and was a manager with the National Research Council. Yoga founded a centre for clean energy research at the University of British Columbia. He is continuing to explore technical innovations towards passive energy buildings as well as carbon neutral “Net Zero” communities. He is bringing in his expertise and skilled team from many diverse backgrounds in Cleantech, engineering, urban planning, real estate, and business to create this eco-village project.

Tom Bunting

Tom Bunting

A founding Partner of FORMOSIS architecture, and previously of Bunting Coady Architects, Tom has over thirty years of professional experience with an extensive background in commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial architecture. His vision and focus helped Bunting Coady Architects to achieve international recognition for its work in the evolution of sustainable and energy efficient architecture and design. Respected for his detailed understanding of Master Planning and modern design, Tom possesses an extensive knowledge of established and emerging design languages. He has been a pioneer of passive building design which focuses on how climatic response, energy consumption, and material choices can be a primary form and architectural generator, in addition to the traditional influences of social and built form context. Tom’s experience with large-scale, multi-building master plan sites in Vancouver and Calgary dates back to the 90’s with the master planning of Discovery Park + Broadway Tech Centre.

Nabeel Remtulla

Nabeel Remtulla

Nabeel develops cash flow forecasts and profitability analyses for CEOs, CFOs, and COOs. He provides financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, and product costing. With previous experience at Manning Elliot and CIBC until 2015, he has recently branched out into private practice and consults with small to medium size enterprises in the cleantech market.

Paul Manson

Mr. Manson is the CEO of DC Grid Development Corp., which he founded in 2015 as a vehicle to advance the adoption of cutting-edge technologies which exemplify the best in energy efficiency, cleantech, and sustainable renewable energy generation, transmission and storage. From 2003 to 2015, Mr. Manson served as President and CEO of Sea Breeze Power Corp., a publicly traded renewable energy project development company, following the Company’s acquisition of Sea Breeze Energy Inc., a wind development firm that he co-founded in 2001.

Geoff Forrester

Geoff Forrester

Geoff studied architecture at Carleton University and Urban Planning at University of Ottawa, as well as project management and construction management at BCIT and Algonquin College. He has extensive experience in equity financing and construction debt for real estate land assemblies. He has been involved in luxury home development and the redevelopment of commercial rental properties. Geoff has spent 8 years in Cleantech and sustainable community energy projects in BC, Alberta, and the US.
